Betsy Johnson

Betsy is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision at UTK. She received her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and her BFA in Studio Art from East Tennessee State University.

Before coming to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Betsy had the opportunity to work within community mental health as an outpatient therapist as well as within Student Life as a Residence Director. Betsy’s therapeutic orientation is Person-Centered and she loves to help others grow in self-awareness and self-acceptance; she believes relationships are a vital part of being human and loves to explore with others how we can continue to develop our skills in building helpful relationships with others by first having a meaningful, positive relationship with ourselves.
