Catie Anglea

Catie is currently a second year master’s degree student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at UTK. Before coming to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, she received her B.S. in Psychology from Mercer University and had the opportunity to work as a behavior aide in a group home with children and adolescents. She has clinical experience counseling adolescents and young adults and is passionate about helping LGBTQ+ folks navigate the intersection between sexuality and spirituality.

Catie utilizes a non-directive, humanistic therapeutic approach in the counseling space and believes everyone has the tools they need to experience wellness within themselves. She believes healing and wellness begins with the self and strives to empower folks to connect with their mind, body, and spirit so that they can know themselves in a deep, meaningful way. From this place, she hopes folks can then begin cultivating intentional, genuine relationships with others that are life giving.

In her free time, she enjoys visiting local coffee shops, thrifting, cooking, and learning how to live in a more sustainable, eco-friendly way.
