Destiny White is a Licensed Professional Counselor with mental health services provider designation and graduate student in the Counselor Education Ph.D. program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Prior to attending UT, she has served as a clinical mental health counselor throughout East Tennessee where she has provided individual, family, and group counseling. She is experienced in addressing trauma and adjustment disorders including stress management. As a counselor, she uses a mix of therapeutic interventions to meet the individual needs of the client including Gestalt, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Reality Therapy, creative and expressive therapies and mindfulness-based practices. She is passionate about advocacy and outreach for mental health services, especially to marginalized and underserved populations.
Destiny utilizes a mixture of her personal life experiences and evidence-based practices in mental health to improve the overall wellness of the individuals she works with. She conceptualizes healing as a journey rather than a destination and works to help individuals find the paths that fit them in the present moment to help them reach their goals. She is a lifelong Knoxville native, and she is a true Vol for Life. In her free time she enjoys game nights with friends, painting, exploring new places, and adventuring around with her dog Prudence.
